Hi! I’m Alec, a recent IB graduate (41/45) from UWC Atlantic College, Class of 2025. After recently finishing 2 years of strong ups and downs within the International Baccalaureate, I can now proudly say I am ready to use my experience to help prepare anyone with the tough challenges that the IB loves to offer.
I am particularly confident in STEM subjects, however I’ve also found a surprising enthusiasm for Anthropology. As well as this, I am motivated to further my Spanish proficiency and so teaching this language would be gratifying. During my time at UWC Atlantic I was co-head of the innovation division on the Student Academic Board which gave me first hand experience in how to best manage your time, which is crucial for balancing the demanding coursework with regular subject studying as well as any extra-curricular activities.
It’s important that there are more than just subject choices in common between myself and pupils. Outside academics, I’m passionate about engineering, sports, and exploring the outdoors; hobbies that shape my approach to coaching — precise, patient, and energetic.

The IB isn’t just about memorising content — it’s about managing time, staying motivated, and learning how to think critically. Having graduated this year, I know the inevitable struggles, however I also know what helps people succeed, and my goal is to help you manage the IB in its entirety, so that you can succeed without burning out.
In lessons, we’ll take each topic step by step, in a way that lets you to truly understand what is needed to succeed and why, as this allows great performance to come naturally. I’ll also guide you through coursework, essays, and exam techniques so that you can fully reach your potential.
Beyond academics, I’ll share strategies for organisation, balance, and stress management — the same skills that helped me succeed with 41/45.
